Galaxy S26 Ultra’s selfie camera tipped to use a new sensor

Samsung is set to finally unveil the Galaxy S26 series next week at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. Just days before the announcement, a tipster has shared new details about the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature an upgraded selfie camera. While it will retain a 12MP front-facing camera, matching the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the device will use a new sensor.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is tipped to switch to a Sony sensor, replacing the Samsung ISOCELL 3LU used in its predecessor. Other specifications are expected to remain unchanged, including the 1/3.2-inch sensor size, 1.12µm pixel size, and f/2.2 aperture.

Notably, the front camera is said to offer a wider 85-degree field of view. The hole-punch cutout is also expected to be slightly larger than the S25 Ultra.

It’s unclear what improvements the Sony sensor will bring to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but we won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Meanwhile, you can check out all the details about the phone over here.
