Fox Entertainment has given an early Season 3 pickup to its workplace comedy Animal Control a month before the single-camera series starring Joel McHale is set to premiere its second season on March 6, paired with Family Guy.
Animal Control is Fox’s first fully owned live-action comedy — and only current live-action series — which is giving the company flexibility on renewal decisions. The comedy, which scored a record streaming debut for Fox, has lined up international sales in key English-language territories, including UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, bringing revenue for the company. (The network’s roster of fully owned scripted series also includes animated comedy Krapopolis.)
